10 Reasons You Should Choose A City Electric Bike

10 Reasons You Should Choose A City Electric Bike

Electric commuter bikes will revolutionize the way you get around the city. Here are 10 good reasons why it’s time to make the change.
Commuter e-bikes will almost certainly get you to your destination faster than traditional transportation, so is it time to change your daily commute? Plus, e-bikes are a safe way to commute with your kids and family!
Yup! Read on to find out how easy it is to commute to work on an e-bike.

1. twice the effort
If you think the office is too far away for a bicycle, think again! With the electric assist feature of your e-bike, you can ride farther than you ever thought possible. What’s that, you ask? HOTEBIKE city e-bikes have various levels of assistance that essentially give your ride a boost – helping you to ride farther and faster without getting tired. And because you can also go faster than a regular bike, you can travel longer distances, which means those weekend road trips become more fun too! So whether you’re heading to the office or want to meet up with a friend on the other side of town, you can get there on time and with ease!

2. it saves time …… Not just because it’s faster!
Yes, an electric commuter bike looks just like a traditional bike, but don’t let that fool you: electric bikes are faster and can dramatically reduce your commute time. E-bikes come with an electric pedal assist that gives you the extra boost you need to maintain your desired speed while riding. Everyone’s preferred speed is different, so HOTEBIKE e-bikes are equipped with various levels of pedal support, such as “Eco”, “Normal” and “Sport”. This means you can easily get the boost you need at your own pace.

But speed isn’t the only factor that reduces commuting time. With an e-bike, you can avoid getting stuck in traffic jams and save on parking time; and when you arrive, you won’t need a shower because you won’t be sweating profusely! Think of all the free time you’ll have: you can stay in bed longer in the morning, spend more time at the gym during lunch, and even have an after-work drink sooner. It’s win-win!

3. Charge like a smartphone
If you’re new to e-bikes, then you’re probably wondering how to charge them. Well, it’s no different than charging your phone, smartwatch or headphones. Simply remove the battery, plug in the power cord, and connect the charger to the battery. Simple! On average, a full charge takes about five to eight hours, but an ultra-fast charging battery only takes three hours. If you’re in a hurry, you can always use the battery again before it’s fully charged.

When fully charged, an e-bike’s range – the distance you can travel on a single charge – is typically 30-120 miles (50-200 kilometers), depending on a variety of factors and battery type. To maximize your range, consider using lower levels of assistance, riding at lower speeds, and finding the right gearing. If you run out of battery during a ride, well, it’s still a bike, isn’t it, so you can just pedal!

4. It’s safe.
Speed isn’t the only important factor when you’re commuting to work on an e-bike. Sure, you want to get from A to B as quickly as possible, but safety is key. With the right gear and the right precautions, your commute can be both safe and fast!

Always wear a proper helmet and make yourself as visible as possible to those around you: use lights and reflectors – not just at night; and wear high-visibility clothing – anything neon, reflective, and eye-catching. It’s safe to be seen.

5. Get really comfortable
Don’t be surprised if riding an e-bike is one of the most comfortable commutes you’ve ever experienced. Our saddles are lightweight, waterproof, and come with a pressure relief base.

But you may be thinking, “If this e-bike is heavy, will it be a pain to maneuver?” The answer is no!’ . We’ve solved it! This electric commuter bike is equipped with a “walk-assist” feature that gives you plenty of support when you get off the bike if you need to push it up a hill or around an obstacle. This feature helps reduce the weight of the bike and makes it easier to maneuver when you’re not riding.

6. Gears are easy to use
Mechanical gears on standard bikes make riding easier, from pedaling uphill to maintaining cruising efficiency. In addition to these mechanical gears, electric commuter bikes also feature electric auxiliary gears, which increase the total number of gears on the bike. For example, an e-bike with eight mechanical gears and three electric-assisted gears has a total of 24 different gears/speeds.

For beginners, choosing the right gear is simple. Start from a standstill in the lowest gear – the one with the lowest pedal resistance, which means pedaling feels easy – and gradually increase the gears as you gain speed. Keep in mind, however, that you may need to downshift to a lower (easier) gear as you climb or slow down.

7. You can pack the kitchen sink
Okay, not literally, but a common complaint when biking to work is the limited number of items you can carry with you. This is where e-bikes are a game changer. You can carry your work bag, your shopping bag (and the kitchen sink!) – You can even store your weekend travel bag on the e-bike’s rack; all this extra baggage doesn’t mean you have to work harder, as the pedal assist will help you carry the load. If you want to take your kids out and about too, simply install a child seat or child trailer and enjoy the power and stability of a bike. Learn more about cargo e-bikes.

8. It’s practically like riding a bicycle ……
Riding an e-bike has some differences from a standard bicycle, but the principles are very similar; so if you can ride a bicycle, you can ride an e-bike! Be sure to always follow the rules of the road and keep some e-bike-specific safety tips in mind: e-bikes are heavier and faster, so be aware that you are riding with more power than you would on a pedal bike; and although you can go faster, keep your speed under control when you’re in traffic and congested areas as car drivers won’t expect you to go as fast.

Wear a helmet, make yourself visible with daytime riding lights, and remember that the extra weight can sometimes make you feel wobbly, especially at the start. Take the time to learn how to get off, brake, and stop, and you’ll soon feel like a pro.

9. Efficient
Did you know that it takes less physical energy to cycle a mile than it does to walk a mile? Bicycling is one of the most efficient ways to get to your destination. Studies have shown that bicycling is five times more efficient than walking. That’s what happens with a traditional bicycle without pedal assistance. Imagine how much less energy your e-bike would need to use to give you that extra boost. After all, it’s your commute, not a HIIT workout – you deserve the extra boost along the way! But if you want more of a challenge, you can always turn off the assist and pedal the traditional way.

10. it’s cool
It used to be that people cared about what you drove, but times are changing. The way you choose to travel reflects your values and what’s important to you. Commuting on an e-bike is not only practical, but it also shows that you care about the environment. Is there anything cooler than being green? We don’t think so ……

It’s not that we’re biased, but e-bikes really are perfect for your daily commute! Ride to work, run errands, go out with friends …… E-bikes can be practical, healthy, and most importantly, fun. Check out our collection of commuter electric bikes to find the perfect one for you.
